DSCF9228Revolving drum type chicken pluker. No, Kathy was not yelling at Tom!  Our friends Katrina and Cory needed a lesson in chicken processing in preparation for putting their 150 clover fed meat birds in the freezer.  While I have skinned most of my chickens, this project built a fire under me to make a low cost chicken plucker. It worked well and was made mostly out of salvaged materials and some tarp straps.

Having chickens isn’t for everyone.  However, raising chickens or doing anything on your property that is consistent with your personality and lifestyle produces multiple benefits.  The key is making it fit with how you want to live and how you see things. Many people are uncertain about all of the options that might be available to truly engage in using their property. At Eco-Building & Forestry we regularly help others reach success by using where they live to improve their lifestyle.
