The following are frequently expressed concerns about Sustainable Shoreline Landscapes.  

Problematic Plants:Some of our customers have expressed concern about the potential for introduced plants to become problematic for swimming and boating activities.  Many homeowners are quickly finding out that they can stabilize their shoreline without giving up recreation use of their lakeshore. As with any landscape, the first step is design. Together with our lakeshore designer we will identify the areas you would like to reserve for recreation and areas where native plants can flourish.

Permitting:  When you contract with Eco-Building & Forestry, LLC. you can rest assured that your new Sustainable Shoreline Landscaping will meet the stringent criteria in place by the Department of Natural Resources and local governmental agencies.  We are familiar with the DNR regulations and know how to obtain the information needed from local governments. Many steps must be taken to satisfy the conditions under which a permit is granted. We take care of all of that for you!

Cost: Homeowners should expect to invest a minimum of $100.00 per linear foot for aquatic plantings. This covers shoreline design, obtaining permits, plants and materials, installation, and necessary follow-up procedures to satisfy governmental requirements. Actual investment will vary depending upon individual site characteristics and solutions.
